Wood-look laminate, anyone?

Sometimes you just want wood flooring, but you can't have it, whether it’s for budget reasons or maybe the room is just too wet and humid for hardwood.

Just because you can’t have genuine wood doesn’t mean you can’t have something that looks like wood, such as laminate.

Six Floors Down has been serving the area for 14 years. We handle both residential and commercial, the latter being restaurants, medical facilities, and retail locations. With a fully stocked flooring inventory, we also provide professional installation and more.

Our showrooms are in Westerville & Pickerington, OH and we service Westerville, OH, Pickerington, OH, Columbus, OH, Canal Winchester, OH, New Albany, OH, Reynoldsburg, OH, and Worthington, OH.

If you prefer, we can always come to your home or business with flooring samples.

Your answer to a challenge

Laminate looks so authentic that many are installing it not just in the kitchen and bath, but also in living and dining rooms and bedrooms. It comes in a large assortment of species with texturing to give it a hand-scraped, distressed, wire-brushed, or antiqued appearance. While you can get it in sheets, the laminate can also be cut into planks to make it look even more realistic.

Add a high-gloss finish and your room is ready for the design pages.

Wood isn’t the only look!

You can also get it to look like stone and imagine: You can turn your home into an Italian palazzo. It's also available as tiles, which come in a variety of colors and can be mixed and matched to create your unique design, add a touch of color, or just create a theme.

Laminate = Aesthetics + Function

Laminate is:
  • Durable. The product is layered, with a core made from ultra-tough high-density fiberboard. At the top is a clear plastic wear sheet, coated with aluminum oxide which has super strength. This protects the floor from scratches and stains.Life happens, especially if you have kids and pets. Things get dropped, crayons and markers can stain, and they all can run. It’s a recommended product for those with kids and/or pets since it can stand up to punishment (and those crayon stains can be easily removed.)
  • Easy to care for. Just sweep or vacuum with a soft brush attachment. For a more thorough cleaning, use a well-wrung mop with water and a manufacturer-approved cleaner.
  • Easy to install. It's do-it-yourself friendly. Laminate can be installed over most existing floors and the pieces just click together like a puzzle. (You can also use the glue-down method if you want.)

Since laminate is made from wood byproducts, it can be damaged by excess water. Exercise care and never let the liquid get between the planks or joists.
